Lieutenant Eric Halbach started his career with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office in 2001 as a Correctional Deputy. He was promoted to Patrol Deputy in October of 2002 and then to Sergeant in August of 2013. He held that position until his promotion to Lieutenant in October of 2018.

Lieutenant Halbach currently a member of the Crash Reconstruction Team and Dive Teams. He is also an Emergency Vehicle Operator and Vehicle Contacts Instructor. Lt. Halbach also serves on the Fond du Lac County Child Abduction Response Team as the Co-Search Team Coordinator. He has served on numerous boards and committees including holding several officer positions. He was past President (2017) and Vice-President (2014-16) of the Midwest Public Safety Divers Association, past President of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association (2013-18), and board member of the Wisconsin Civil Process Group (2018).

Lt. Halbach is a current member of the Quad County Critical Incident Stress Management Team, which represents Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette and Waushara Counties.  Lt. Halbach graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science – Political Science major.
