Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Property and Evidence Room
The Property and Evidence room staff is responsible for the acceptance, security, control and disposal of found, recovered or evidentiary property in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes and the policy and procedures of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
All properties will be secured in a manner that safeguards said property until such time that the property can be returned to its rightful owner, sold at public auction or destroyed in the proper manner.
Hours of Operation:
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Evidence and Property room has staff available Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Return / release of property guide lines:
The return/release of all property shall be by appointment only.
Please call (920) 929-3966 or email sheriff@fdlco.wi.govto make the necessary arrangements for the return of property.
Please put “Property” in the subject line.
Property shall only be returned to the owner when proper documentation is filled out and provided to the Sheriff's Office and must provide identification and a signature.
Consent to Release Property to Third Party
Any property that was evidence shall only be released with a signed court order or a signed release from the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office. If you have questions regarding this process please call (920) 929-3966 or email sheriff@fdlco.wi.govand we will assist you.
To avoid delays, the Property Room staff will make every effort to notify and secure time and date with the individual claiming the property.
