The Fond du Lac County Secure Detention Center is one of 13 such facilities in the State. With a rated capacity of 27 juveniles, this detention center serves as a facility for juvenile offenders from throughout the county as well as other counties in need of juvenile placements for Secure Detention. Youths that are found to be delinquent can remain in the facility for the duration of their sanctions, or may be transferred to State facilities if their sentence dictates such a move. The facility has a full time Fond du Lac school teacher who has the responsibility to provide an education to all incarcerated juveniles. Programs available for juveniles are provided by the Department of Social Services and Juvenile Intake, as well as from volunteers. Bible study and religious programs are offered, as is interactive recreation with Secure Detention staff. It is staffed at all times by 2 Fond du Lac County Correctional Deputies.
The Juvenile's Social Worker is required to complete a Visitor Registration Form upon admittance into the Fond du Lac County Secure Detention Facility and submit this form to the Jail Staff. Juvenile detainees can only be visited by parents/guardians, grandparents and siblings, listed on the Juvenile’s Approved Visitors List. All approved visitors must show a valid ID before visiting. Siblings (under 18 years of age) will be permitted to visit with proof of Birth Certificate and must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian. All other visitors will only be allowed with the approval of the Juvenile Superintendent and assigned Social Worker. Submit your request to the Social Worker, who will in turn make the request to the Juvenile Superintendent.
Money will not be taken in during visits. There is a "Stellar Teller" (Money intake machine) located in the lobby of the Main Jail (63 Western Ave) for all deposits of money into a Juvenile’s account. Stellar Teller will accept cash, credit and/or debit cards. There is a transaction fee charged by the company owning the machine.
